Biography
Garry L. Harwood
was born in 1959 in London, England, where he still lives. He initially
studied for a career as a marine biologist and physical oceanographer
but following two decades in the jewellery industry he returned to his
roots to forge a new career and make painting his profession.
His
interest in the natural and physical sciences and the
role played by the artist in the visualization of scientific data and
its communication to the public occasionally
influences his art. In this guise his astronomical work has appeared
on television
and at professional conferences and public musea and planetaria. He
has exhibited in Chile and the USA,
in the UK with
the Royal Society of Marine Artists, and in Spain with the International
Association of Astronomical Artists of which he is a life member.
