Available Light Studios Commissions Traditionally, works have been commissioned by word of mouth on the basis of a set of ground rules, widely accepted by artists' and illustrators and by those that commission works regularly, but only partially understood by either side. With the huge increase in the use of illustration and the practical difficulties involved in negotiating each individual commission in detail, clarifying terms and conditions of trade is now more important than ever. For this reason, and to protect both client and myself, a "Contract to Commission Artwork" which sets out the terms and conditions of trade between artist and purchaser must be completed before any work can commence. A copy of this formal document is available on request. Original Fine Art - Fees for one off, fine art pieces depend on the medium, complexity, size, and estimated time required to complete the work.
Illustration
- Fees for illustration depend on the type and the usage of the image, including the size the image will be reproduced at, the type of publication, number of copies printed, distribution, language rights, number of editions, etc.
